Transport Upgrades

The Elbit Systems of America® upgrade package features a modular, cost-effective, avionics suite in a fully digital glass cockpit that includes dual central mission computers; open architecture VME rack systems; dual embedded GPS/INS; seven 6 × 8 color, multifunction displays; dual, head up displays for accurate short strip landing; and digital map for a paperless cockpit and data link.

These and other advanced avionics systems and features result in an extended performance envelope. Benefits include maximum redundancy, safety, situational awareness, and enhanced survivability while simultaneously lessening the workload for pilot and crew.

Additionally, the upgraded avionics suite enables performance of all global airspace missions including precision strip landing, accurate airdrop, weight and balance calculations, and search and rescue missions. Structural refurbishment and major systems replacement enable multi-year life extension.
