GAViS™
The General Aviation Vision System (GAViS™) is a single, compact, uncooled, FLIR-improved sensor. It has an aerodynamic, single, line-replaceable-unit design. It weighs only 3.5 lbs. and is streamlined into an aerodynamic fairing package for mounting on the aircraft nose assembly. The GAViS™ is simple to operate, immune to solar radiation, and operates over the full temperature range of normal commercial aircraft. The unit features a 30° horizontal by 22.5° vertical field of view and uses 28 VDC aircraft source power. The FLIR is optimized for eight to 14 microns with a 320 x 240 pixel array. Simple video output is provided with RS-170 analog. The GAViS™ design is certified up to 55,000 feet and can sustain -55° to +70° C. It is designed for low fidelity applications with minimal aircraft modification and may be mounted on its own mounting plate to simplify installation.
